Nour is powered by Genyous.ai and uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) — a technology that first searches through a curated database of Islamic texts before generating any response. This means Nour's answers are always grounded in real sources, not fabricated from general training data.

Our RAG database includes the complete Quran in Arabic with 12 translations, all 40,943 authenticated hadiths from 9 major collections, and 1,486 curated scholarly text chunks covering fiqh, aqidah, seerah, and Islamic ethics. Every embedding is generated using state-of-the-art models for maximum retrieval accuracy.

Nour follows strict ethical guidelines. She never issues fatwas — religious rulings that require the qualification of a mufti. Instead, she provides information, cites sources, and directs users to qualified scholars for personal rulings. When scholars disagree on a topic, she presents the different positions with their evidences.

Gender-adaptive communication is built into Nour's personality. She addresses male users with "akh" (brother) and female users with "ukht" (sister), creating a respectful and personalized experience. Available in 12 languages, Nour makes authentic Islamic knowledge accessible to Muslims worldwide.
